Are you Googling, or praying?

One might assume that non-educational programming like, oh, "Leave It to Lamas" may not spark an spiritual dialog, but that depends on how you set your parameters. For instance, I would usually roll my eyes at programming such as LITL (it's so cool to acronym-ize the name of shows with long titles (i.e. So You Think You Can Dance, SYTYCD)) but my antennae happened to tune in for a few seconds to hear someone say, "are you Googling, or praying?" Yes, one might once have assumed that when you seen someone with their hands clasped and head bowed that they were communicating with our Heavenly Father, but no more my friends! That person is clutched on to their iphone Googling for the answer to life's questions, for directions, for inspiration. What a sad commentary on our culture. Have we turned our faith into an app? Have we substituted Google for God? Have we traded technology for the Bible? Oh my. We have haven't we?

I know God works in mysterious ways, but I didn't think he would use E!TV to speak a little something to me. So from now on, I will set my parameters a little wider and be open to the messages he may be sending my way. Amen.
